In 2022, Tankly founders Grant and Alex moved to a property that was not connected to the
town’s water mains. For over a year, we enjoyed the tranquility of off-grid living —
unaware of the water challenges that lay ahead.
In late 2023, the rain stopped and our water tank ran dry. Local water cartage companies
were overwhelmed, and even the simple act of giving baby Darcy a bath became a luxury.
We soon discovered just how frustrating it was to arrange a water delivery. It meant
calling multiple cartage companies, checking availability, and then circling back to
confirm bookings. We couldn’t believe there wasn’t a modern solution to streamline this
process.
After some investigation, it became clear the issue wasn’t with the carters
themselves—there simply weren’t any tools available to help them manage their bookings.
With backgrounds in the tech industry—Grant as a software developer and Alex as a UI/UX
designer—we realized we could build something that made a difference. From day one, our
mission has been to support the small operators — the "one-man-bands" keeping regional
communities running, and scaling to support to larger providers over time.

Our mission
The Tankly Difference
As a small, family-run business, we offer a more personal and responsive experience
compared to larger providers of management platform software.
When you need support, you’ll speak directly with a member of our team—often one of us
personally. There are no long wait times or overseas call centres to navigate.
We also value your feedback. Our goal is to build the best possible product for our users,
and that means listening closely to your suggestions and continuously improving based on
your needs.
